I have been painting furniture for over 15 years and I think these are the best products to paint furniture + kitchen cabinets on the market. They’re easy to use, easy to clean up and both produce gorgeous results. I always want to make sure that whatever I’m recommending is the best option out there. So I’ve tried and tested these products on tons of furniture (don’t forget that we sell that furniture too!) and I can promise that you’ll love it.

First up is our Jolie Matte Paint Line

1. Jolie Matte Paint – This is my first recommendation for new furniture/DIY home project users. It’s the easiest to use, sticks to anything (wood, metal, cement, laminants, etc.), no priming, no sanding. You just pop the top and go. It’s non-toxic, low in VOC’s and it’s been Green Wise Certfied as an Eco Friendly Product. When it comes to sealing your piece you have two options. You can use Jolie’s Furniture Wax or Jolie’s Varnish (poly) that comes in a low luster or gloss sheen. This line is great for furniture, kitchen cabinets, floors, bathroom vanities and so much more.

Next is Our General Finishes Paint Line

2. General Finishes (GF) – General Finishes Milk paint is not a true “milk paint” (usually mixed with water) but a high tech acrylic product. Again, this paint is low in VOC and is now more eco-friendly than ever. It’s made from more than 50% renewable resources and formulated from sustainable materials that decrease the carbon footprint. This self-sealing interior/exterior mineral-based paint named for its low-luster sheen. It’s easy to use but a bit thinner than Jolie Paint, so be careful for drips. We recommend sealing with the GF High Performance Top Coat that comes in flat, satin, semi gloss and gloss sheen. GF also has a cool product called Gel Stain that can give new life to table tops or any surface you want to keep the wood grain look but don’t want to sand, stain and seal.
