This piece was painted by Annie Sloan’s Painter in Residence Johnathan Marc Mendes and we are so inspired by it! We love the idea of adding a graphic pattern to a simple piece to really personalize it and make it a one-of-a-kind! To achieve this look or a similar geometric pattern, try using your favorite brand of painters tape. Most brands come in a variety of widths to help you get the exact look you’re going for! To achieve a gradient look on your pattern like Johnathan Marc Mendes, try adding increasing amounts of either pure white or old white to each level. Adding pure white will keep your mix more modern and adding old white will give it a vintage vibe. Keep in mind, if you plan to water down your paint, be careful not to thin it out too much or you may cause bleeding under the tape line. Always be sure to let each color dry completely before moving on to the next!

Stop in and grab your supplies or buy them online here! Check back next Thursday for our tip of the week! Do you have any favorite tips you’ve picked up along the way? Comment below!

Happy Painting!
