We always tell our customers there are endless finishes that can be achieved using Chalk Paint. From full coverage and European Distress to a color washed look like our shop manager and Painter in Residence, Christina, did on this dresser.
Before Christina worked her magic, the dresser, especially on the top, showed signs of wear and tear, but was otherwise in good condition.
To start with, Christina watered down some Old white Chalk Paint. She then applied it directly over top of the wood and wiped it away while it was still wet. Christina worked in sections to ensure the coverage remained consistent. After distressing, she added a small amount of dark wax to bring out some of the details on the piece.
To even out the discolored portions on the top, Christina applied the dark wax directly to wood on top. Lastly, she revived the hardware with a little gold spray paint. We love how the wash turned out!
