I’ve been playing with my little dining room in the house and was thinking about where all of the items came from.  I updated my tag line a bit ago with “Vintage Modern Life” based on how I decorate and what I feel is practical.  An entire home of vintage items is fabulous but not always easy to do and or realistic.

When my husband and I got married and merged our homes we had A LOT of furniture. He had basically gone to Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel and bough some beautiful leather pieces and a fabulous bedroom set among other items.  I had some amazing vintage tables and chairs that I had collected over the years or been given.  When we moved into our new home it it was small (1200 sq ft).  So we had to decide how to use all the furniture.

I feel like a lot of people battle with this.  I am a firm believer that a home needs to be practical and comfortable but must have a little history and a good story (that’s where the vintage comes in).  For most people a vintage couch isn’t realistic but a cool side table or interesting piece of art is….this is where the vintage modern life saying comes into play.

An example from my home….our dining room.  Here is a breakdown of where the items came from….

– Dining table and chairs are vintage and have been refreshed with Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan .

– Rug in sale from Pottery Barn

– Long console table – vintage Baker table from an auction

– Demi lune side table & mirror both vintage

– Secretary vintage from auction

– Large piece of art work an original from my sister in laws mother given to us for our wedding (I LOVE  IT).

– Two mirrors on either side of the art work from Target

– “Spy” prints on the wall I have 3 of them all from an auction

– Antlers bough at a Barn Sale

– Pink glass candle holders new

– Curtains Target

Sorry the pics are not that great…iphone 🙂

  6. I have been exploring for a bit for any high-quality articles or blog posts on this sort of space . Exploring in Yahoo I finally stumbled upon this web site. Studying this info So i am satisfied to show that I’ve an incredibly good uncanny feeling I found out exactly what I needed. I such a lot undoubtedly will make certain to do not overlook this site and give it a look on a constant basis.

  7. Thanks for your suggestions. One thing I have noticed is that banks and also financial institutions have in mind the spending behaviors of consumers plus understand that a lot of people max outside their cards around the breaks. They properly take advantage of that fact and start flooding the inbox and also snail-mail box together with hundreds of 0 APR card offers right after the holiday season comes to an end. Knowing that should you be like 98% of the American general public, you’ll leap at the one opportunity to consolidate credit card debt and shift balances towards 0 apr interest rates credit cards.

  8. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Ek Haber to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

  9. Luigi Fulk says:

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite Ek Haber earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

You are my inspiration , I have few web logs and occasionally run out from to post .I think this website holds some rattling fantastic info for everyone. “The penalty of success is to be bored by the attentions of people who formerly snubbed you.” by Mary Wilson Little.

  11. One thing I’d like to say is the fact that before buying more computer memory, look at the machine into which it could be installed. In the event the machine is definitely running Windows XP, for instance, a memory threshold is 3.25GB. Setting up more than this would merely constitute a new waste. Make sure that one’s mother board can handle the upgrade volume, as well. Great blog post.
