Hello Again! I wanted to share a new beauty that landed in the shop. I picked her up at auction and bid on her without seeing her in person. I do that a lot these days since I have the new baby. I am buying vintage without getting to look at it which can be risky especially with vintage! This little lady was a sure-fire WINNER! She is 10x cooler in person that she looked online. The flaming on the wood is gorgeous and wait till you see the inside of her (see more details on our etsy site, $650)….
Inside we found some paper work stating she came from NYC on Park Ave and was used in a jewelry shop. So this is an example of a piece I’m not sure I would paint. Would she look good painted of course BUT she is so unique and the wood flaming is interesting I’m thinking no on painting her. Often when I find piece like these if I do paint them I might just do the exterior frame and then leave the drawers original. It’s a nice way to honor the vintage but give it a fresh modern feel.
What do you think? Paint or No Paint?
No, don’t paint!! Beautiful wood.
Do NOT paint that beautiful piece!!!
Beautiful piece of furniture. I would definitely not paint.
Please, please, please do not plain this piece.
Definitely no paint!!!! This is a beauty!!
Beautiful piece with beautiful wood grain! No paint!
Beautiful piece- very similar to a Biedermier secretary I own that I would never dream of painting. The wood grain is fabulous and this is one of those pieces that should not be chalk painted. I save chalk painting for those ugly ugly BROWN pieces of furniture that should never have been manufactured in the first place!
