If you follow along on IG Stories (link here) you have seen we are trying to tick away at our “to do’s list” on our house….I’m not sure why all of a sudden I am feeling the need to get some of these lingering items done but I am and it feel good. I like to be organized it makes me feel calm and I’m a big time introverted homebody so doing projects on my house makes me happy.
Lately with all the kids, new baby, work, etc. I haven’t been making time to do things in the house. Over Christmas break the kids were sick so we were trapped inside and I started piddling around and attacking project like painting the floors in the kids craft room (check it out on IG stories, blog post to come) I was loving it so I just kept going…..
This past weekend we ended up having a split rail fence put in. It’s really making the front of the house look like a country cottage outside the big city. We also finally added the shutters, blog post here. if you want to check it out.
I haven’t been able to get a good picture of the house yet with the fence up….I’m not loving it yet only because the wood is new and yellow but in time the elements will add natural patina and I know we will love it. The kids asked “why are you putting up a fence? Is it to keep us in? You know we can get out?” They crack me up.
We had a few other things being done at the house at the same time – putting in a door to a storage area in the back and putting back together our kitchenette in the basement. Liam my 5 year was all about “helping” he even busted out his tool belt and tools. Thank goodness the guys were really sweet and patient. I call my husband “handy hubby” so this is “handy Liam”.
