This textured Bureau was designed by Charlie Massey, also known as Girl in Blue Designs. Charlie used putty at the top of the bureau, moving midway down the front of the piece, hoping for a ‘dripped’ effect!
Once the putty was dry completely, Charlie used a base coat of Annie Sloan’s Antionette Chalk Paint® to cover the entire secretary. Next, she applied Burgundy over the wet Antionette to mix together to create a hot pink color. She then waited until the paint was dry to continue. After the Antionette and the Burgundy were dry she applied a mix of Provence and Aubusson Blue over the top of the desk. Then the ‘dripped effect’ areas received a coat of Napoleonic Blue, Antionette, and Burgundy.
Once it was completely dry, Charlie conducted a wet distress using warm soapy water and a rag to wipe back areas of the paint, revealing layers of the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®. She concluded her project with a coat of Clear Wax!
