At the end of 2015 I decided to reach out to a select few D.C. area innovative Makers + Creators to share our Chalk Paint® line with and see what they might use the paint on.  At the top of my list was Jamie from Marigold & Grey for two reason 1. she does gorgeous work 2. she came from a traditional business background before she opened her company much like I did.  I hope you enjoy learning a little bit about this local business and how she incorporated Chalk Paint into her business.

Tell us a little bit about your business.

Marigold & Grey offers artisan welcome gifting for weddings, workshops, client & corporate gifting and all types of social events. We do custom gift design for some clients while others use our Build-Your-Own-Gift tool on our website. We hand-deliver in the DC area and ship nationwide!

What did you use for your Chalk Paint project and why did your pick your colors?

In our studio, we often use unfinished pine boxes in our gift designs. As a fun twist, I chose these for the paint project. To coincide with our branding colors, I of course chose “marigold” and “grey” paint colors!

What do enjoy the most about having a creative business?

Without a doubt, I love being able to combine my business background with my creative talents without having to be one or the other.

What is your style?

Our gifting style is lush, soft, feminine and organic.  I’m madly in love with neutrals and accenting with the occasional pop of color. But to be honest, I’d still be happy in life if neutrals were the ONLY colors that existed. They’re elegant and have such a calming effect.

What can you not live without?

Since I don’t drink coffee, I can’t live without Pellegrino. The fizzy wakes me up in the morning! And then all througout the day.
