This week’s feature is from Annie Sloan Painters in Residence Shed Eleven. This picture was posted on Annie Sloan’s Inspiration Page! It is finally spring and we absolutely love these pastel colors on this dresser! This chest of drawers is the perfect addition to any room in your house. Can you believe that these drawers are actually made out of fabric and transformed with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®
This chest of drawers is from the 1930s and it was from the Australian Depression Era!! It was given a big makeover by Fanny, who is part of Annie Sloan’s Shed Eleven. Fanny used a linen sheet and she cut out some monograms to provide some extra detail on the fabric. Monogram is a great ad on for any fabric DIY project.
Fanny dyed the fabric using Chalk Paint Aubusson, Florence, and Giverny. The colors were dilated and used to create soft pastels tints rather than their original bright shades. There was plenty of water involved to make the colors very light. The wooden parts of the dresser were covered in Chalk Paint’s Old White to create a sewing box look! Fanny finished off her piece with the Chalk Paint Clear Wax to give it a finished look!
