As many of you know that follow along on the blog with the twins, the shops, design clients and more it’s hard to get around to decorating your own home! I see all these great bloggers posting gorgeously staged pictures of their homes and think to myself “How do they have time to do that?!”. This year we did get more done on our house than last year but I am STILL working on the inside of our house. I have done a few easy things to the exterior and wanted to share them with you.
I have faux wreaths I bought a few years ago that I hang on the windows but I do always like to do a real wreath on the door. With my lack of time I ended up picking up a great live wreath at our local Meadow Farms nursery ($19) something like this sorry did’t take a before picture. I saw a more basic one at Home Depot for $6 that would work too!
and then I picked up this cute deer head cut out at Michael’s
I used this gold glitter spray from Home Depot to spray the cut out (yes there is now an outline of this on the floor of my garage since it was raining the day I did this little 2 second project!)
And then attached the deer head to the wreath with a little houndstooth ribbon and tada all done and ready to hang!
One of the things I really like is that the cut out stands out from far away so you can really see it from the street which is fun. Next to dress up the front porch we took vintage sleds and made some fun bows for them (we have a few more sleds for sale at the shop if you want one!)
What are you doing to dress your door for the holidays? For more fun pictures and ideas follow along with us on FB + Instagram.
Cheers, Kelly
