Being that it’s now officially Fall (that is we’ve had a couple weeks of Fall-worthy weather), we decided it was time to include some beautiful rich jewel tones. This week’s color recipe of the week is Eggplant, a rich, deep purple. To Achieve this color, We mixed equal parts Emperors Silk and Florence. If you wanted to deepen the color even further, you could try mixing the emperor’s silk with Aubusson instead!
Check this piece out! We found it on the black hole that is Pinterest and are feeling so inspired. We can’t wait to use it when the right piece comes along! Can you imagine how beautiful it would look topped with some green or yellow accents?

Happy Painting
I am getting ready to paint a french provincial chest using one of your suggested combinations., Emporors Silk with either Aubusson or Florence. Would you finish with dark wax on either piece?
the dark wax would be very moody! I love this idea but def use the clear wax first they the dark wax so you can meld in the dark wax!
