We bought this art deco china cabinet a few weeks ago and I decided it was time to refresh it. Originally we thought we would sell it as is down at FOUNDRY but it never made it to the shop and I was needing a little creative outlet!
I decided to use a base coat of Annie Sloan Aubusson Blue (one of my all time favs) and then put country grey as the top coat just to add a little interest. I ended up distressing it quite a bit around the edges. He is finished off with Johnson’s clear wax. I just love how the blue pops out.
The great thing about these little cabinets is that they don’t need to be used for just “china” anymore. Now a days they make great storage for books, toys, arts & craft supplies or even to store diapers, etc. in a nursery.
ART will be for sale on my etsy site and at the barn sale in january {read more about the barn here!} or you can email me kelly@stylishpatina.com if you are interested.
It would be more French if you used chicken wire, gently sprayed or even lightly brushed in a metallic color to match your pulls.
instead of replacing the glass…..just a thought.
Oh I love how it turned out especially the blue peeking through and those legs. I do have a let fetish! 🙂
Absolutely gorgeous, love the color, and what a fantastic makeover! Visiting from MMS.
