I was lucky enough to find Heather through a long time family friend that came into the store! Heather is a craft master. She can turn pallets into flags, coffee tables and anything else you can imagine. She is always up for a challenge and loves mixing paint colors as much as I do! She may be small in stature but she has a huge heart and is up for anything including driving our monster hauling truck Gerty. She has helped me find some great deals for the shop while she was out picking for herself.
She has been with Stylish Patina since the beginning and is the other backbone to the business. She is always in Pinterest coming up with new ideas for us and sharing her awesome finds. She does a great job merchandising our windows and has a gift with the chalkboard pen! She is just as crazy as Sarah and I so the three of us together have a blast we goof around about as much as we work and the time always fly’s by. Mondays are the only day all three of us work together and I think we all look forward to it each week. It’s a day we get to catch up, brainstorm and stretch our creative limits. I can’t image the business without Heather and her creative escapades. Meet Heather…
Where are you from? Fairfax Station, VA
How long have you worked with Stylish Patina? Since May 2013
What’s your favorite part of your job? That it doesn’t feel like a job. We carry this card in the shop that quotes Confucius, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I get to be creative every day and collaborate with other hardworking visionaries. We entertain each other. We work hard and we laugh a lot too.
What is your favorite line of paint to use? Why? Annie Sloan is my girl—Chalk Paint is my go-to, hands down. It’s my favorite because it’s foolproof. There’s no uncertainty whether it’s going to work out or not; it always works. It’s magic, really.
What’s your favorite color to paint with? Old White.
What’s your personal style? Hmm…I’ll pick three: Art Deco, French Provincial, and Bling—arguably and admittedly gaudy bling.
What are a couple of your favorite things we carry? I love our greeting cards! Our scarves make the best gifts. The Archipelago candles; Mango Tangerine scent-my personal favorite. Don’t even get me started on the jewelry…
What was your best vacation? What’s your dream vacation? Best vacation: Catalina Island Dream Vacation: a shark-free one. But really. I’d love to go to Australia.
What do you like to do in your free time? Free time = craft time. I’m always up to something craft related. More recently, anything involving power tools; those are fun. I also play soccer.
What’s your favorite food? Breakfast in general. Pizza, more specifically. Maybe filet mignon if it’s my last meal.
What’s your guilty pleasure? Monster Rehab Energy Drink. So guilty. So good.
Something you wouldn’t guess about me by looking at me is…….I graduated from West Virginia University. Let’s Go, Mountaineers!
My girls / adopted sisters Sarah and Heather. Both had older sisters so they don’t need another bossy older sis’ but oh well!
