Most of our stage 1 renovation budget for the new house is going into the interior so that it is clean and functional for us and our new babies. However; I couldn’t help but make a few little tweaks to the exterior to liven up the front of the house. Here is what it looks like now….
Landscaping has to wait for the time being but a little paint I think is going to make a world of difference. I plan on having the siding on dormers painted a light gray as well as the walls inside the portico by the door. I found a great color for the door after mom , sarah (the shop manager & my design assistant) looked at a few.
The colors are called French Silver (siding) by Behr and Juniper Breeze (front door) by Behr. All the trim will be pure white and I am looking into black shutters for the windows. I think these little touches will add some coziness to the front of the house and some dimension.
Eventually hubby and I envision a white picket fence around the yard and either a front porch the length of the house or some lovely landscaping. The other item we are going to invest in this fall are 2 trees for the front yard. We are thinking a crape myrtle and an oak tree.
