I have a soft spot for the Lucketts Spring Fair since it was the first place other than Etsy + Craigs List that I sold my furniture. This year I decided we would bite the bullet and get back on the horse after taking a couple years off. Well I have to say it made for a very interesting return. As many of you know Friday was beautiful but Saturday was a hot mess and Sunday was cancelled.
We had a great time setting up Thursday things went pretty smooth until we realized we had left the headlights on in the big truck we call Gerty. Her battery was so dead we couldn’t even jump her. Thank goodness for helpful guys with tools that removed the batteries so I could drop them at Sears to be charged (all the little details you have to deal with when running a small business). Heather, Sarah + I actually took a couple SP Team pictures which was fun since we don’t have any real pictures together.
The highlight of our booth I think was Bucky’s head poking out of Ira (our green pick up truck). We made a sign saying “Take a Buck Shot” with Bucky and tag us on Instagram. It was so much fun seeing all of the pictures. You can see a bunch of them on IG or on our Facebook page.
Saturday was a mud slide….thank goodness for hay deliveries!
Sunday the event was called off due to mud issues! My hubby drove out Saturday night to attempt to drive Gerty home but they got stuck!
So we called in a sitter for the twins last minute and drove out first thing Sunday morning with our friend so we could attempt to drive home both trucks. Hubby doesn’t do much with the day to day running of the business but when there is an issue with the trucks or weather such as snow and rain he pays all his dues!
(hubby on the left best friend ever on the right!)
These two guys got out in the rain and mud Saturday night + Sunday morning!
Finally we got pulled out Sunday….check FB + IG for videos of the event!
Needless to say it was memorable and I don’t think the girls will be asking when we will be doing another outdoor event any time soon. The Lucketts team was amazing and so helpful. I felt really bad for them it was a lot to deal with and everything was out of their control. I hope this doesn’t discourage them from doing it next year!
