We’re halfway through the summer and we’ve been giving you all tons of ideas for great projects to do with your kids while on summer vaca. If you’ve missed those, check out our post about Science Experiments and this one about Art. Now we’re wrapping up this month with our favorite kid’s project book! We’re excited to tell you all about “Ada Twist’s Big Project Book for Stellar Scientists” available in our store!

Based on the picture book “Ada Twist Scientist”, Andrea Beaty and David Roberts have created a project book to inspire budding scientists. This book encourages kids to question, think and explore. Through a series of projects, questions and prompts, this project book encourages a nutral exploration of STEM.

This kid’s project book is packed with over 40 things for kids to discover, draw and create. There are even open areas for kid’s to write and draw. Not only does this enocourage open ended play, it let’s thier own creativity run wild! Once they start working in the book and adding their own ideas and drawings, the book becomes their own -something more special than all the rest!

What Makes This Kid’s Science Book the Best?

The big skills that this project book focuses on is learning how scientists work. Encouraging their creative and curios minds, they learn how scientitst ask the questions; what, why, how and when. It naturally guides your kids through the scientific methods of questioning, reasearch and data collection. Some activities can be completed in an afternoon, like making an aquascope or observing a chemical reaction between vinegar and baking soda. While other activities show children that scientists need patience as they; track the phases of the moon, record weather changes and grow plants.

Each of the projects in Ada Twist’s Big Project Book for Stellar Scientist introduce different scientific fields. Which means that no matter which aspect of science your kid’s lean towards, there’s something for everyone. This is a perfect science and project book for kids in elementary school and a great way to bridge the gap this summer!

If you’re looking for some more cool and fun ideas to do with your kiddos this summer, be sure to stop by the store! We’ve got a whole section dedicated to children’s toys, activities and books! As a Momma of 4, I know we all need something fun to do throughout the week! We’re open Tuesday through Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-5!
