This year with the twins in toe my new year resolution list is looking pretty minimalistic. The one thing I have been humbled by is the amount of time and energy my little guys take up. I love them to pieces but getting even a load of laundry done during the day when I am home alone is a feat. This year my personal resolutions are pretty basics:
1. Be thankful for all the gifts I have in my life. There are so many people struggling with truly heartbreaking things. We have a very blessed life. I am humbled everyday by a young family dealing with their little girl Kylie’s battle with cancer (read more here). I follow them on Facebook and each day think this could be one of my children. My life is a cake walk compared to so many others.
2. Be present. As I have said before it’s easy to wish away the hard times in life with my little twin blessings. I want to enjoy every day when they are little and watch them grow up vs. wishing them to 6 months, 1 year, etc.
3. Slow down. This one might be the hardest of all 3 resolutions but it is also the key to achieving number 1 & 2. I am used to doing 10 things at once and the babies have made me slow down purely because I cannot do as much with them they require my attention. I hope to learn to relax a bit more and realize that not everything has to be done at one time. I think if I can master this one everything else will fall into place.
Just like everyone else I also have the regular resolutions like exercise, eat better, finish decorating my house and sleep more (yeah I wish!). I have an entire set of goals for the business in 2015 and those I’ll reveal in another post but yes we have some fun and exciting things on the horizon for Stylish Patina in 2015.
A couple pictures of Liam & Peyton for you all just for fun!
They are adorable. Such blessings.
Wonderful resolutions! That is something we should all desire to achieve. The twins are so cute!
